The prototype for this house, built high on a hardscrabble ridge with distant water views, was the chicken barns which dot fields throughout this area of Maine. Simple, rugged sheathing and commercial-grade windows satisfied the clients’ desire for a straightforward aesthetic and pragmatic approach to living deeply connected to sun, views and weather.
