Marfa Competition

We were pleased to find out this week that we received an Honorable Mention Award for our entry to the Marfa, Texas Multi-Family Housing Competition.

Competition was fierce–there were well over a hundred entries from all over the world. Although an “ideas” competition, it was clear many of us took this challenge very seriously, and presented solutions that were strong both conceptually and at a detail level.

Marfa, in West Texas, is one of our favorite places anywhere. Truly Texan, but with art swagger and an edgy aesthetic sense that doesn’t exist anywhere else. We loved the challenge of expressing our fondness for this town and its people by designing twelve units of housing that would feel right there.
